Real Alien Force Omnitrix
Real Alien Force Omnitrix, Adobe Aero, Alternative Reality
April 2024
This is not really a game but man do I wish I had something like this when I was a kid. When I first got my Samsung Galaxy Watch I immediately downloaded a Ben 10 omnitrix app by Ionz Interactive called Omnimatrix. You can switch between different versions of the omnitrix from the classic Ben 10 series, Alien Force, and Omniverse. In the Alien Force series when Ben would activate the omnitrix a holographic model would pop out of the watch when he was selecting between aliens which obviously cannot happen with modern technology. For our final virtual and augmented reality assignment we had to use Adobe Aero to make an augmented reality art piece and of course I had to bring my childhood dreams into fruition. I downloaded some alien models from one of the Ben 10 video games and then tinted them green in Blender so that I they were as close as they appeared in the TV show as possible.
This was my first attempt with trying to bring the Alien Force omnitrix to life which is why Swampfire does not have a green tint and is T-posing. The hard part of the project was seeing if Aero can find the image on my watch and if the model would move with it as I tilted my arm away from the camera. Thankfully it was very successful on the first try, you can get a pretty good front view of Swampfire but you do have to be a bit more careful when tilting for Brainstorm.
In Blender I made the models a lot greener, not sure why when shrinking them in Adobe Aero reverts a bit of their original color back but it still achieves the effect that I desired.
Feel free to try these out but I will warn you that you will most likely be able to only view the tops of the models if you are on a monitor. If you have access to a smart watch try to save the images on the left into its camera roll and then scan their respective QR codes.
